Trip to Yercaud (Period: 8th - 10th Mar 2002)

Yercaud is a hill station in Tamil Nadu, which is only 25 kilometers from Salem city. I and my friends (Writo, Anto, Ramprasad and Suman) went there to enjoy the cool climate and escape the monotony of Chennai.

It also made sense to celebrate my birthday at Yercaud with few close friends and few pegs :-)

Suman and Me

The wild & hilly Yercaud. In March, the place is usually bright and quite hot too. Evenings are cool though. Hills are full of wild trees and wild coffee plantations!

There is only one road at Yercaud. This road connects this small town/ hill station to the Salem city. At many places, the road is lined with trees in full bloom as shown here. Scenic Yercaud, on the main road

Near Anna Park, on the bank of Yercaud lake Anna Park at Yercaud is small but supposed to be a great tourist spot in autumn when the flowers are in full bloom. However in spring, not much can be expected!
This is the Yercaud lake. Calm and serene.

Boating is also allowed here.

We had few good pegs to begin the trip!

Ohh! We also celebrated my birthday with VAT 69 bottle. It was cool. Anto, who is on sabbatical these days (for whatever reasons) had to be content with some Australian juice!
