People I Admire

Books I Like>>>

I admire many people. But it is difficult to jot them down on one page at one go! So I have and am still taking time to do true justice to this particular page.

There are a few things which I just love. I love Physics, Mathematics and Science in general. And when it comes to Physics, one name just stands out for me : Richard P Feynman : 1965 Nobel Prize Winner, a multifaceted personality who was not just a
physicist, but also a drummer, painter and a teacher. "The Dignified Professor" of CalTech was very witty as well.

I love reading Feynman books. I have most of them and I have read each one of them atleast more than once.

He has written many books. The masterpiece is : 'Surely you're joking, Mr. Feynman!': Adventures of a Curious Character. Check this and his other books.

While I was studying at SPJIMR, Mumbai, I had the priviledge of interacting with one personality whom I couldn't help but admire! And through him, I got to know another personality with whom I dream to meet someday! Well, I am talking about Shuvam Misra and Philip Greenspun! Who are they ?

Shuvam used to teach the Information Management batch (IM of SPJIMR) Web Technology. He was not a core faculty but just a visiting faculty. Being an entrepreneur himself, he was always busy! and would postpone or arrive late for his classes (sorry Shuvam...:-) ) and surprisingly we would wait for him to come and teach us! A "No, not possible", answer from Shuvam would make the entire IM batch so sad! It was unbelievable, more so coz he was a typical technologist, who never lost an opportunity to bash the "managers"and "consultants" that a typical B-school produces!

Shuvam at a glance

shuvam.jpg (9567 bytes) He is B.Tech, M.Tech (IIT Bombay). He worked for a few companies before becoming an entrepreneur himself. His early claim to fame was the very successful site called Indiaworld. To know more about him, click here...
He is a guru   in Web technologies. Check his interview on E-Security !
Raring to join his company... check out the skill set required! >>>
And here is more... shows his character and conviction! >>>
The IM batch rightly bestowed on him a special title; that of "The God" ! The ability of "The God" was in making us understand those seemingly intricate things in plain and  simple English!

Shuvam you are just great  ! :-))

Want to mail this super personality ?

When Shuvam was teaching us 'WebTechnology', he told us to read a book authored by Philip Greenspun. Wow... that was some book, one cannot help but simply admire and also its author!
Philip Greenspun is"part of MIT Computer Science community, physically rooted at 545 Technology Square", as he himself describes. You will know him and his personality when you read his bestseller!

Read his book "Philip and Alex's Guide to Web Publishing" !. It is available online!
